Ali has been working in the five boroughs with young children and their families for over a decade. She first found her passion for working with children 0-3 at the University of Vermont, where she taught at their Campus Children’s Center with toddlers and two-year-olds. From 2011- 2024, she taught in various schools in NYC. She holds a master’s degree in Infant and Family Development from the Bank Street College of Education.

Throughout her teaching career, Ali has worked with children, parents, and teachers to bring sensory experiences into their lives. She loves witnessing a child have an “aha” moment as they learn through kinesthetic play. Ali believes children learn best through hands-on, experiential play and is passionate about making sensory play accessible to all families.

In 2019, she took on a new role as a mother. Sensory play became a big part of her home life with her daughter. From water to oobleck, there was nothing they didn’t experiment with. During her daughter’s toddler years, Ali found that there were no classes that highlighted the importance of sensory play for 0-3-year-olds.

In the spring of 2023, Ali decided to bring her idea to life in Brooklyn. She looks forward to welcoming new families to the Sensory Wonder community.
